The storm system which has soaked the South, again, will push off the coast Friday.

This means Texas, Arkansas, and Northern Louisiana will finally get a break from the rain you this afternoon. The rain should end across the rest of the Southeast by Friday morning. That’s not before an additional 1-2” fall across Alabama and Georgia today.

On the cold side of this system, it is snowing in parts of Tennessee, North Carolina, and Virginia. Even Northern Mississippi and Alabama are seeing some snow and wintry mix. The highest accumulations are forecast across Piedmont and Coastal Plains where 3-5” of snow could fall.
