Low chance of Big Bad storms Monday afternoon

We’re watching from southern Missouri to northern Mississippi for a small chance of severe storms.

This should be a pretty isolated event due to the lack of instability in the atmosphere this afternoon into the early evening. If it were to be a little warmer in these areas, we would probably see a higher risk for those Big Bad storms.

Models show a broken line of storms developing in eastern Arkansas and then moving east into the Memphis area between 5-7pm. The biggest threat from these will be strong winds and some small hail, but a tornado can’t be ruled out.
