Meteorologist Stephen Parr

Stephen spent 15 years in broadcast meteorology tracking storms in Tornado and Dixie Alleys. He began his weather career as the Weekend Weatherman for KLTV in Tyler, TX and was later promoted to Morning Meteorologist. In 2007, he became the Chief Meteorologist for KSLA in Shreveport, LA.

 

Stephen studied Broadcast Meteorology at Mississippi State. He also earned a Masters Degree in Geosciences from Mississippi State in 2007. His first degree was from the University of Texas in Business Marketing.

Stephen has won several AP awards in both Texas and Louisiana for his work on air covering dangerous weather. He was also nominated for two Emmys for his weather coverage.

 
 

He was one of the first people in the country to cover severe weather in an online video chat, and the model he pioneered has been copied by TV stations around the country. As one of the founders of Storm Guides, Stephen is dedicated to helping his neighbors feel safe and stay informed whenever storms are threatening.
