Another round of Big Bad storms today

We’re watching another round of Big Bad storms for the ArkLaTex region for this afternoon, Friday, April 24th.

Storms should initially fire up in East Texas and Oklahoma late this afternoon into the early evening.

These storms will be a little different from the last few events. It looks like they will stay more individual for a while when they first get going. This means they may pose a tornado threat for a few hours before they start to merge together and transition into a wind threat. The other threat to pay extra attention to will be hail. Because of the storm mode of staying discrete, they will pose a hail threat. Some could be rather big. We’re thinking up to golf ball size, maybe bigger.

As for timing, we’re thinking storms fire up between 3-5pm in Texas and Oklahoma. They more through the Shreveport/Bossier/Texarkana area between 6-10pm. They will start to lose some of their punch as they move east around midnight.

Be sure to visit our Facebook page this afternoon for updates on watch and warning information.
