The risk for Big Bad Storms has shifted further north today. The Storm Prediction Center has put out an Enhanced Risk for parts of Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri, Illinois, Arkansas, Kentucky and Indiana.

Further south, we are still expecting some showers and storms in Texas, Oklahoma, and northwest Louisiana, but they aren’t looking like they’ll get out of hand today.

Friday morning, that rain in East Texas and Louisiana will be a bit stronger. However, it’s looking like the heaviest rain will be coming during the mid morning hours. This is good, because it means the atmosphere won’t have a lot of time to heat up and become unstable. Also, the focus of that rain will be separated from the stronger upper level support. So, we’re looking for rain, but not Big Bad Storms.
