Tornado Watch Issued

The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Tornado Watch for parts of Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas through 10:00 tonight. This is part of a larger system that’s slowly moving through the Southern Plains and into the Mississippi River Valley this evening.

You can see the line of storms in the graphic above from around 2:20 this afternoon when the watch was issued. They run from near Ardmore, OK through the northwest corner of Arkansas. That entire line is moving east, and what we’ll be watching for is development in that line. There are a few showers out ahead of that squall line, but right now, they don’t look like the biggest threat.
