A weekend warm up

A taste of summer time temperatures is setting up over the weekend and into early next week.

Since the weather pattern has settled down a bit and we’re not seeing rain and storms, now we’re going to give the atmosphere a chance to heat up.

Thursday, we talked about how the overall flow of the weather pattern has turned more “zonal.” It just means that winds in the atmosphere are blowing from west to east, and there are no big bad storm systems in the mix right now.

It also means weather will turn more typical for the time of the year. There’s a small area of high pressure over Texas. So the heat is going to crank up around it.

Expect some sunny days and mostly clear nights over the weekend. Temperatures in West and Central Texas will be in the upper 90s and lower 100s. Temperatures further to the east will be a little “cooler” than that with numbers mainly in the upper 80s to near 90. This trend will hold into early next week.

I know a lot of us are working and playing outside to entertain ourselves right now. So make sure to take breaks and stay hydrated!
