Relief from the heat later this week

A cold front will bring high temperatures some 5 - 10 degrees below average by the end of the week.

We’re seeing a little taste of summertime heat across the south. We’ve seen some areas in Texas reach the upper 90s to near 100. Other areas stuck in the upper 80s and lower 90s. Either way, the sweat factor is in full swing.

A late week cold front appears to be on track for Friday. There will be some rain and storms, but, for the moment, it doesn’t look like Big Bad weather. We’ll be watching that trend.

What it does look like is lows in the 40s and 50s and highs in the 60s and 70s. This will move on during the day Friday and could hang on through early next week.
