3 Days Next Week
There is a chance for some severe weather today in the Florida Keys and across the tip of the peninsula. Much of the rest of the state is looking at rain and storms, but probably not severe weather.
We’re also looking ahead to next week. A system will travel across Texas on Monday and start to tap into some moisture coming out of the Gulf of Mexico on Tuesday. As it swings across East Texas and begins its trek across the rest of the south, there is a chance the system could create some severe weather. That does include the possibility of tornadoes.
The map above is a composite from the Storm Prediction Center, showing the areas at risk of severe weather from Tuesday through Thursday. On Tuesday, the storms will be in East Texas, North Louisiana, Arkansas, and Northwest Mississippi. On Wednesday, they’ll travel into Central and South Louisiana, South Mississippi and into Alabama. On Thursday, we’re looking at storms in South Alabama, the Florida Panhandle, Georgia and South Carolina.
We will keep an eye on this and as we get closer to the event, we’ll be able to be more precise with our forecast timing and just how strong we expect these storms to become. And, of course, we’ll keep you updated here on StormGuides.Live and on our Facebook page.
