A small chance for a Big Bad storm

IMG_3285.gif

Heavy rain will be the main concern from the weather heading into this afternoon and evening, but there is a low chance of an isolated severe storm.

Thunderstorms will continue to increase in the areas along and south of I-20 this evening and even overnight. Again, we’re much more concerned about the flash flooding risk this system will bring. However, a brief tornado, some hail, and some gusty winds could accompany the strongest of storms today. That’s going to be for the areas highlighted in the dark green colors on the map above.

The risk for Big Bad storms is as low as the scale goes. It’s in the marginal category which is a 1 out of 5. So we’re not expecting a major severe weather event.
