Easter Storms Have Begun

If you caught our Big Bad Weather Blog Prep Talk on Facebook earlier today, you heard us talking about some storms we were expecting to fire up in Southwest Texas this evening. Well, the radar image above shows they’ve done just that.

Overnight, we’re expecting those storms to grow bigger and start to form into a more organized structure. They’ll cross I-35 overnight, and in the morning we’ll start to see these storms in the ArkLaTex.

There’s a lot going on in the atmosphere with this system, so there is still some uncertainty about how exactly this will shape up. Timing for rains are slowing down by about an hour from what we were looking at earlier today, and there is still a lot of disagreement among the models. So, we’ll have to watch all of this carefully in the morning as it develops.

We are planning on launching the Big Bad Weather Blog on Facebook early Easter Morning. You can follow us there and ask questions. We’ll answer them for you as quickly, and as specifically as we can.

In the meantime, make sure you have a plan for tomorrow. Know where your Storm Safe Room is, and have your bicycle helmets ready in case you need them. If you’ll have all of that planned in advance, then you won’t need to panic about them if a tornado warning is issued for your house.

Also, tell your friends about Storm Guides and our Big Bad Weather Blog. We’re here for them, too!
