Heat Still in Control; Severe Storms Stay North

Excessive Heat Warning extend from the Gulf of Mexico to Minnesota again today! Actual air temperatures will be in the range of 100 - 108 depending on where you are. Heat index values 115+ in many spots. Also of note is the Red Flag Warnings across Louisiana where several wildfires are burning due to extremely dry and hot conditions. Some areas of Louisiana haven’t measured rainfall in over a month. This heat is dangerous and unusual, no matter if it’s the dog days of summer or not. Please be safe and cool!

Severe Storms Near The Great Lakes

We’re watching Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania for the threat of storms this evening and overnight that could produce a few tornadoes and hail, but the main concern is for damaging wind gusts. Some hi-res model data suggests wind could top 65mph as they move into Detroit and continue to the SE.
