An overall nice weekend on tap

A short break in a rather active weather pattern will bring a mostly dry forecast this weekend.

A quick look at the picture above, from the GFS model, shows warm weather across much of the South all the way up to the Central Plains for this Saturday. This is thanks to a large area of high pressure hanging out over the Northern Gulf of Mexico. Still pretty chilly from the Northeast, MidAtlantic, and Northern Plains.

Take a look at the precipitation mode on the same model at the same time for Saturday, and you’ll see most of the country is also dry and sunny.

We are watching next week closely for a chance of Big Bad storms across the ArkLaTex and ArkLaMiss regions. So this pattern of nice weather will be brief.
