Energy to get storms going will be rather limited and actually not at the surface where you need it to be to get really strong storms. The energy will be mainly above the surface and that will also limit the severe potential. However, some small hail and perhaps some isolated damaging wind gusts will be possible with the storms that grow the strongest.

The window for this potential looks to be between 4pm this evening through early Friday morning.

Regardless of severe weather, expect rain to increase from North Texas to Wester Mississippi later today and overnight.
