Storms still on track for Mid-Atlantic this evening

Storms are likely to continue eastward into Virginia and Pennsylvania this evening. Some of those could be Big Bad storms.

The risk is pretty low with only a 1 out of 5 on the scale, as seen on the map above, but some storms may be able to produce some gusty and damaging winds. While the risk is even lower, I can’t say the chance is zero for a quick, spin-up tornado along the line of storms as they march through from west to east.

The intensity of these storms should diminish shortly after midnight and be off the coast around sunrise Thursday.
